Indian Energy Scenario: wastage at user level.

This is an interesting article on India’s energy security by Cynical Nerd (http://delhi1029.blogspot.com/). Author has extensively researched on Indian perspective. But one perspective of Indian energy scenario is how to save energy from being wasted at the user level. Whether its power, petrol or our habits, government has largely failed to control the energy waste at the user level. Organizations like www.pcra.org are doing a wonderful job in making people aware of the importance of energy saving.

For example I personally have reduced my electricity bill to an effective 40% by using CFL lamps. But the problem with these technologies is that they are too costly for ordinary Indians to start with, especially at the rural level.

Energy saving is a controversial topic and is usually not given much importance due to vote bank politics, law enforcement etc. but then these are much larger issues to discuss with Energy Saving.
