Why we should vote against Iran?

Everyone right now wants India to vote In favor of Iran at the IAEA. And now with the change of Petroleum minister and Natwar Singh in deep shit it is pretty clear that government has only two options either to vote against the Iran or to abstain. It is widely believed that government will abstain. I tried to look at reasons for voting against Iran. And it’s not difficult to understand even for Left.

1) First of all, all our love for Iran is based on its Gas and Oil reserve, which we may be consuming in distance future. And we all know how uncertain that future is for Iran.

2) Sole guarantor of security of any pipeline from Iran to India via Pakistan is USA. I don’t think any explanation is needed if you listen to the latest comment of Pakistani President that we are enemies how can be talk of trade.

3) India proud itself in being a peaceful user of Nuclear technology and has always supported this cause. We all know why Iran wants Nuclear Technology. In such scenario we should certainly vote against Iran.

4) And this is the most important of all. United States of America is the only super power of the world we live in. We confronted with it so many times when our interests were at stakes but Iran can never be our interest. We are interested in oil and that we are going to purchase it in any case from a US company that will eventually finance and take control of Iranian oil in near or distance future. That’s what is about to happen in Iraq.

5) Our nuclear programs need help from countries like USA. And whether one likes or not world runs on give and take. Therefore this simply is a deal and not a pressure tactics.
It’s up to India whom it wants to deal with.

These are few of the many reason for India to vote against Iran. And we should not forget that United States is adamant to take Iran to Security Council for which it has even sponsored the removal of Natwar Singh and Manishanker Aiyer.
